Sarah Laurence — the writer, artist and blogger up in Maine — is hosting a Blogger Book Boost on her site. The idea is that it can act as a central clearinghouse where everyone can post links to their suggestions for books that would make great gifts this holiday season.
My top suggestions for holiday giving — especially garden-related titles — appear in my most recent Artful Living newspaper column.
But don't stop there. I have reviews and references to books scattered throughout Each Little World. Among them are titles about Paul Klee's puppets, the Wyeth family's art, a biography of Beatrix Potter and a look at single women after WWI. Click on "Books, Reading & Reviews" in the category list at left to find all my book references.
If you are specifically interested in children's books for Christmas, there are more than enough titles to keep you busy buying and reading for years, over at A day that is dessert. And the wonderful Dominique Browning, former editor of the late and still-lamented House and Garden magazine, offers her titles for garden lovers in The New York Times.
Great suggestions! I really enjoyed your article on garden books too and the gorgeous artwork above. I'm guessing that is how you and my husband must know my Aunt Virginia.

Hi Sarah! You're right; we know Virginia through our art interests. I really enjoyed your tour of NYC on this week's posting.
