The election is over and I am trying to not look at FB or the news too much. But as Mark says, it's like a train wreck and it's hard to turn away. I would not say life has returned to normal but we at least managed to get some sleep last night.
Yesterday morning I went to the library and came home with a stack of garden books. I decided the thing to do, at least in the short term, is to ignore the whole mess before I go crazy. So I've returned to reading, writing and thinking about the garden.
The weather continues to be quite lovely for November and it looks like we will at least tie, if not break, the record for the latest frost date. There's still lots of color in the garden and my Thanksgiving Hellebores are starting to open. Definitely a moment when the best things in life are in the garden.
