What a wonderful idea even if it didn't all turn out. But the recipe for chocolate mousse does sound like a winner. I wonder if I can find it on line. I have a bar of such choc.in the fridge and am looking for something to do with it. I love your table setting too.

What a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine's Day. I will be making duck fat potatoes for a cookbook I am working on so it's good to know about your experience.
I'm going to have to look up that mousse recipe. :)

Erin @ The Impatient Gardener

Oh that mousse looks divine! Sorry to hear the potatoes weren't all they were cracked up to be. All these years I've had a fantasy about duck fat roasted potatoes but have not had them because of the obvious procurement problems and because it was a bit too much of an indulgence. Guess I'll stick with my olive oil.

Oh, wow, that dessert is going into my recipe book as "Cheater Mousse." Brute force and a tiny bit of chemistry. Nice.

Glad to see you're still updating occasionally!

What a great way to spend Valentine's Day! :0)

I just made this meal minus the mousse for my mom yesterday for lunch -- she had cut it out and asked that I make it for her when I arrived late Friday evening for a 3 day weekend visit-- we shopped at Whole Foods, even got the duck fat there -- was a great success although our table was not as romantically set as yours -- now I have to try the mousse

I'm really curious to try the Chocolate Mousse. I wonder why one couldn't use a food processor or electric mixer to whip the chocolate?

The midnight pasta sounds right up my alley too.

Cindy — I was wondering about using my hand mixer, but decided I would follow it to the letter the first time. If you try it using electric mixers etc. let me know how it works.
